From her breakout role as Thuli on the popular SABC 2 soapie, Muvhango to a recurring role on Mzansi Magic's Greed & Desire, Simphiwe Ngema continues to make strides as an actress.
Simphiwe Ngema is one of the very few people in the media industry who has managed to keep her name out of the gossip pages while maintaining a clean image. ZAlebs caught up with her in an effort to understand her need to keep a good relationship with the people in the same industry as her.
Simphiwe started off by giving us a quick synopsis of her role on Greed & Desire.
"Noni Ndlovu is a self-proclaimed psychologist who is very ambitious. She always goes for what she wants even if it hurts other people along the way."
The actress explained why she feels it is important to keep a good relationship with the people in the entertainment industry.
"Keeping a good relationship with my colleagues or people in the entertainment industry is important because the South African entertainment industry is very small, if you are not professional words get around quickly and it is easy for you to be out of a job. So it is best for you to always be professional and take your work serious," said Ngema.
"I met Sindi Dlathu [who plays Thandaza on Muvhango when I was 16 years old. I worked with her in a stage production called 'The Game' we've been close ever since. She is more like an older sister to me. Liteboho Molise [who plays Teboho] is my best friend, we've been friends for 5 years now and we've been through a lot together. To me it is not about being in the same industry with them, these two are just close to my heart," she continued.
Ngema is actually married to actor and musician, Dumi Masilela, and we don't blame you for not knowing that if you don't because the couple has managed to keep their marriage private despite being in the limelight
